Last time, I broke down how I grew my pet accounts to ~70k. Today: the money lever almost every small creator sets up wrong, or never sets up at all, affiliate income.
Here’s the thing that took me embarrassingly long to see: you are already doing the hard part for free. Every time someone DMs you “what harness is that?” and you type out the answer, you’re doing affiliate marketing, minus the part where you get paid. The recommendation already exists. The trust already exists. All that’s missing is a working link and about one afternoon of setup.
Why affiliate is the right second income stream
In my ranking of the five creator income streams, affiliate sits in a sweet spot: unlike brand deals, nobody has to say yes to you first, and unlike a digital product, you don’t have to make anything. A video you posted in March can quietly earn in July. That’s not “passive income” fantasy, it still takes real work, but it’s the only stream a 2k-follower account can switch on this week.
The whole system is one loop, and most creators break it in the same place:
Steps one and two happen naturally on any decent pet page. Step three, the link being exactly where the asker’s thumb already is, is where nearly everyone leaks the money. Not because it’s hard. Because nobody showed them the placement game.
Your one free takeaway: before you join a single program, scroll your DMs and comments and collect every “what is that / where did you get it” question from the last 90 days. I call it the Asked-Twice Audit: any product asked about twice goes on your list. That list, usually 5 to 10 items, is your entire starting affiliate catalogue. Not 50 products. Not a storefront. The things people already ask you about.
🐾 Helping animals is the whole reason we’re here. If you’d like to help too, you can chip in to our shelter fundraiser for Animal Haven, every little bit helps an animal in need. Join us. 🩷
And if we haven’t met everywhere yet, the daily chaos lives on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. 🌭
That’s the free half, the loop and the audit. The actual setup, the part nobody hands you in one place, is just inside. 🔒
Inside the paid half, you’ll get:
The three programs I’d join first (in order), with the honest catch on each.
My link placement map, the spots that actually get tapped, ranked.
My copy-paste disclosure lines that keep you FTC-safe without killing the vibe.
The storefront mistake that earned me almost nothing for months, and the fix.
A first-7-days setup checklist you can follow like a recipe.
Plus every paid post + the full archive.
The $29 Petfluencer Playbook at 30% off, subscribers only.
Upgrade and the whole setup is yours, laid out step by step, so your links go live and every future post can quietly carry one. Come join me on the inside 👇
